I love to scrapbook, but I don’t always have the time that I would like to spend on it. I have different types of scrapbooking. I’ve put them in to categories:

1 – I design for an American Scrapbooking Kit called Cocoa Daisy. This is my favourite type of scrapbooking. I spend longer on these pages and love thinking about techniques, colours and products.

2 – Then there’s Sunday morning scrapbooking. This usually results in not much, just admiring pretty papers and embellishments, starting a page and faffing a bit, but all round feeling chilled.

3 – And finally there’s after dinner scrapbooking. This is when I’ve worked all day and I’ve had so many ideas of what I would like to create. Then I’ve fixed dinner for everyone and cleared up and there’s that time before the kids need me and I’m thinking about what I’ll be working on during the evening. This is when ‘after dinner scrapping’ takes place. I shut myself away for 15 mins or so and pray that I won’t be disturbed. I grab a photo and just a few supplies and whip up a quick page. It’s very satisfying. The result is above.

Here’s how it came together.

1

I’m a big fan of stencils and masks. I’ve started with a mask and some pastels to create a background.

2

I layer up with some pieces from the kit and a small photo. I’ve added a tag and placed it inside the glassine envelope from the kit. A great way to add some hidden journaling.

3

I cut out some of the pieces from my printed embellishment sheet and added some of the sequins.

4

I used the washi tape from my kit as journaling lines. I like the added colour that it gives.

A really quick but very satisfying page. They don’t all have to take hours to make!!
