I really love how well this months kit goes with the Christmas Story kit I used to make the majority of base pages for my journal.
The baking elements work perfectly with today’s theme, I took the boys to make their own chocolate advents at a little workshop which they loved.

I chose 3 photos to fussy cut and feature across the pages and one left whole as a place to tuck more photos and journaling. I used some of the left over papers from creating my journal cover to stretch the kit over the holidays and to create continuity between the journal and pages.

I love the pops of red in the kit and so used a paper bag in red to make a pocket on the first page and added a fold out with photos using one of the papers to back them. The little gingerbread washi strip is adorable and helped make the bag more sturdy to hold the photos inside.

Over on the next 2 pages I had a tuckspot for extra photos and a slide out tag behind another photo secured at the top and bottom to create a channel for the tag to sit. I secured the photos in the tuck spot with a paper clip dangle so they won’t fall out.

I finally inked the back of the patterned papers using a stencil and distress oxide ink and added stamping randomly with a vintage brown ink. I also added stickers from the kit throughout the pages and lots of paint splashes.

Thanks for joining me today, I hope you like my journal so far and I look forward to sharing more pages soon.
Have a Happy Crafty Day!
