Hello lovely friends!
I hope you are all doing well.
Today, I am trying something different.
We all love having bright ( or maybe pastel) colours in our journal.
And black seems to be ( from my observation) is not commonly used.
The Challenge
So, here I am challenging myself to use black as my base colour for my journal layout.

After laying the black paper down , it felt so daunting.
I suddenly felt I didn’t know where to start, and started to regret my life choices.
Nevertheless , I persevered.
I want to document some of my highlights from the month of September .
I used the Pumpkin Spice kit to inject colour into a potentially dark page.
Although we have not done much on this month, I still want to celebrate the things I managed to do , even if it is just small things.
Creating this page made me reflect on how lucky I am and appreciate what I have.
Last September , despite work being so busy, I managed to see friends for dinner , bake a viral cake , witnessed a beautiful bright hunter’s moon, and spend an afternoon with hubby and Poppy.
Not a lot of activity , but it was enough to give me a break and enjoy and do what I love.

So , how did this page come together ?
As mentioned earlier, I used the Pumpkin Spice kit to inject colour into a dark page.
I used some of the stickers, words from the cut apart washi sheet, washi tape and the quote from the zine and the alpha stickers.
I also used the papers from the kit to back the photographs to make them pop out from the page.
The challenge is certainly what to use to write my journaling.
So, white pen to the rescue! I used a white gel pen to write / journal and doodle on the page.
Simple , but it tied it all together.
For added embellishment, I stapled a piece of the lace trim at the top of the page.
This not only acts as an embellishment and a decorative element in my journal , but also as a colourful mark for the page.

The finished Page
I am so surprised ( and relieved !) that it all worked together!
And I had great fun putting it all together.
I am definitely going to try this again !

Will you try this too? If you do , I would love to see what you create.
Please do share it in the Lollipopboxclub FB group so we can all draw some inspiration from each other.
I hope you liked what I have shared today, till the next blogpost my lovely friends..
Lots of crazy hugs and kisses, Sheryll
