I cannot remember when was the last time I went to the theatres, but I loved going.
Recently , hubby and I went to the theatres with his work colleagues to watch Moulin Rouge.
I have seen the movie , but not in theatres form and I was so excited!
We had brunch that day and I had a lovely French toast.
The theatre was full and as soon as you enter the theatre itself , you can feel the atmosphere of what is yet to come.
We had a lovely time and we even had a chance to sing along in the end. The music was in keeping with recent times.
What really surprised me is that hubby enjoyed it !
So much so, that he is open to see other shows in the future.
I thought it would be a lovely idea to journal about this day.
As usual , I collected bits of ephemera from the day – our printed tickets and a show brochure from the theatre.
I found myself noting details from the show that I wanted to include in my journal.
I gathered some old kits items that I could potentially use for my journal layout.

To start with , I have glued ( after tearing it ) one of our ticket. I made sure that the details of the day shows.
I tore a page from the brochure with the show details and glued it on the opposite side. This page is like the posters that were in the theatre.

The theatre lobby was decorated in keeping with the theme of the show , and I remember seeing filigree prints ( I think that is what they are called) on the walls.
I used a stencil from my stash to replicate this and used blue ink.
At this point I have noted that the colour scheme for my page is blue and red.
My photographs also came out red due to the lighting in the theatre.

I noticed that I was running out of space to put my photographs and write my journaling. So I decided to add a flip out
I used one of the papers from an old kit and cut it three inches wide.
To make the flip , I used clear tape and attached it on the left hand side of the page.
I found doilies in my stash and used them to decorate the flip out page and also stencilled on the page so it is in keeping with the rest of the page.
There were also old stickers and I used them to further decorate the page.

I am now ready to journal !
I really love how this journal pages turned out in the end.
To be honest I wasn’t sure how this was going to end up and had to walk away a few times.
Have you been to see a theatre show ? Do you love it ?
I certainly do!
So, that’s my little story , watch this space and perhaps there will be more.
Till next time my friends..
Lots of crafty hugs.. Sheryll
