Happy December every body! I cannot believe we are at that time of year again already. I am on the blog today with a quick and easy crafty fix for your festive boxes. If, like me, you want to be creative all the time but have a slow start to the festive season, you can easily rustle up some festive Christmas cards with this month’s kit.

I do love the traditional Christmas colours or reds, golds and greens, but there is something quite cutesy and kitsch about pinks, burgundy and pastels blending with these ‘traditional colours’.

For the first card, I picked out some pink festive card stock and stuck it onto a card blank. I then halved one of the doilies, attached it to the left side of the card and fringed it with some velvet ribbon in the colour burgundy. Using tags with glitter lifts the card and adds an extra layer of detail and texture, which was heightened by tying a bow using the red embroidery thread from the kit. The pearl dot stickers add more dimension to the card, and I loved these vintage Christmas phrase sticekrs I found in my stash. I used to make cards as a kid (very basic ones!) so this is kind of nostalgic with these word stickers as I had them in gold and silver for ALL occasions!

I hope these cards give you a little bit of inspiration, and they really did not take me very long and required very little thought! It is all about building up from a base, texture and layers. Once you’ve mastered layering, you’ve really got nothing to worry about!
