Hello Friends ! I hope you are all doing well and looking forward to Spring.
There is certainly signs of it now – daffodils are out and we had a couple of sunny days.
I am looking forward to sunny days with the hope that it will make me feel better.
You may notice that I have created my page not in my usual place.
I have been mostly in bed lately due to fatigue, but it hasn’t stopped me to journal when I have a bit of energy.
Anyway, I am making most of my January kit , so I have used it again to journal about our Valentines day date.
We don’t usually celebrate Valentines day, but we both wanted to go out ( we had rain for months!) and also a good reason to visit one of our friends restaurant that is opening again for the year.
I am documenting our day – not just Valentines , but the general mundane day we had – baking , chilling out and dining out.
Creating the page
First, I chose a page that I would like to create into.

As the other page is plain ( apart from the stamped images) , I decided it would be good to create a background from strips of paper from the kit.

I have backed my photographs with one of the papers from the kit to make it stand out from the page. Thinking about it now, I should’ve used a plainer sheet of paper.
While creating this page, I noticed that there was a sheet of kit paper that was in one of the pages of my journal and I cannot for the life of me remember why it is there.
But I took this as a sign to use it in my page. So, I fussy cut the frame images so that I could use it on the opposite side of the page.
I am planning to use the frames to write my journaling.

At this point, I was beginning to get inspired and like my page.
Now it time to embellish!
I used the sticker, elements from cut part card and wash strip sheet.

When I looked at my page , I felt there was something missing.
I remembered I kept the petals that fell off from the bunch of roses I received from hubby, so I glued them on to the page.
Another way to include them is to laminate them and tip it in your page.
I am not sure whether this will last on the page or will it disintegrate over time. We shall see…
I also added a piece of fabric at the top corner of the page as a tab.
This will really look pretty when you close the journal , it will peek at the top of the journal.
The finished page

This is what it looks like after adding the journaling,
I love how this page turned out… I was so worried that it will not come together.
Always trust the process I guess..
Well, I hope you like what I have shared today and perhaps try including botanicals in your journal too.
I hope this has inspired you..
Till the next blog my friends.. take care !
Lots of crafty hugs, Sheryll
