Yes, I have had a few moms growing up. Simply because my mom was away working abroad for a part of my life.

So , I grew up with my grandma and surrounded by my aunts who has inspired me all ,  and made me the person I am today.

I learned not only cooking , but also all the essential life skills that I am now applying in my day to day life.

So, I think it is just right to remember them on Mother’s Day and also dedicate a page for them.

I have used the February kit Simply Vintage for my journal layout.

The flowers were sent with a beautiful paper – my daughter thought that I would love it !  She just knew that I am going to save it and put it in my journal.

I thought that the paper would make a lovely background for my journal layout.

So, I tore a part of it and glued it in my journal pages.

I chose a page that had a pocket in between.  I would like to put most of my journaling inside the pocket,

The page is so busy with floral images and I needed to tone it down.

So I glued the card that my daughter has sent with the flowers on the left hand side and doilies on the right hand side.

I glued my grandmother’s photo on the pocket and also glued the quote card from the zine on the other side of the pocket.

To back  my photos, I used one of the kit papers  and also used a bit of the vintage paper  to decorate the pocket.

I then glued the rest of the photographs on the right hand side of the journal page.

Now it is time to decorate!

I had to delve into my sticker stash – I needed alpha stickers ,  a couple of banner stickers and a sentiment / quote sticker.

As the background is so busy, I wanted the alpha stickers to stand out.

Black would definitely stand out from the busy background.

I used my black Posca pen to colour the letters I needed.

Journaling made me feel so nostalgic and very tearful.  I miss my grandma so much!

I always call my aunties and have a long conversation with them, and I speak to my mom regularly when she is back home in the Philippines.  Otherwise , we talk a lot and spend time cooking or gardening together.

I am grateful to have been raised by these amazing moms in my life.

Now that I am a mom ( and someday a grandma) , I am passing their legacy to my daughter.

I have passed on the cooking and baking skills as well as the life skills that I have gave growing up.

What I really wish is that I should have listened more when my grandma was teaching me traditional dishes from back home.

However, I do have the fondest memories of my time with my grandma.

I am so happy that the story is now captured in my journal.

Thank you so much for reading my lovely friends…

Till next time!

Lots of crafty hugs,  Sheryll.
