Stamping on Fabric

I have a little tip for you today.

If you are playing with your new April ‘Secret Garden’ kit, here’s some little tips.

I created this card by layering up first. Using a paper from the kit, some of the tissue papers and the cello bag from the packaging and then taking a small piece of the fabric. Once cut in to a small square, I frayed the edges and then I took one of the stamps from the kit and stamped it on to the piece of fabric. I love how this worked.

If you don’t have an acrylic block for your stamps, you can stick them to an old cd case and use that instead.

Do always have a practise on scrap paper before you start stamping, especially if it’s a new stamp.

I wanted to share another tip using the fabric.

In case you didn’t see my most recent creative video (which is here)  I trimmed off a thin strip of the fabric from the kit. I then drew on it with some watercolour pencils and then went over with a wet paintbrush and a small amount of watercolor paint. I did this on a large cello bag which I took out of my bin. The coloured water had collected on then on the cello bag a little, so I rubbed the fabric in to this to make sure it was nicely dyed. I used the fabric to replace the string on the tag. I love how this worked and it was really fun to do.

I  hope you’ve enjoyed these tips and I hope you are enjoying your kits.

Thank you so much.
