As April rushes through, the weather of course hasn’t got the spring memo!

As soon as this month’s kit ‘Singing In The Rain’ dropped on my doorstep, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and have a play. This spread is documenting in my Toy Story Journal, which I made to document our ‘Year of Dates’ gift box. For Valentine’s Day this year I bought Jack and I a box of sealed date ideas, and every time we have a day off or a few days free together, we take on out of the box and the envelope dictates what we spend our day doing together. I thought it’s a great way to take the stress out of planning something, and allow us to embrace spontaneity.

The envelope we picked out said we had to go on a lunch date, which we loved because the sun was shining and we needed to nip out to buy a new lawnmower (adulting sucks!)

We went to Costa, as I had a few vouchers to spend (I tend to save them all up and forget about them, so this was another win!)

We sat out in the sunshine enjoying our hot drinks and sandwiches when we noticed a ginger cat sunbathing. After we had finished eating, it came over to say hello, and then decided to sunbathe on the table!

This made us laugh, so of course in true creator style, I had to include it in my journal!

I really enjoyed playing with this kit, and loved the colours especially. Yellow is my favourite colour, and I found this kit, and all the pieces in it, very easy to layer with. The paper bag of course has a blue tag that I had left over from an old kit hiding in it with space for journalling. I love the blue staples, they add a little something to the page too.

The ‘Here comes the sun’ journalling card I found in my junk basket, it was so perfect for this page. I love having a rummage in my junk baskets, because most of the time I pop things in there to use on future pages and then forget. It is so good to have a look at your existing supplies and what you have leftover, because all of the bits and pieces can add so much to your already beautiful pages!

I hope this post has given you some inspiration on how to use this month’s gorgeous kit!
