Apart from having the word of the year ,  I have a few things that I wanted to do better this year…

One is to be more connected with my friends and send little bits of happy mail regularly.    Its just a little  something to say  that despite my crazy life, I am thinking of them.   It’s like a little hug via the post.

This months kit has given me inspiration to create and send a little something from me.  I have taken some inspiration from the colour scheme.   As this is my first blog post , I wanted to keep it really simple.

The post cards

There was a bank postcard that included in the love letters kit .  I just feel the need to make another one !  So, I delved onto my lollipop box club kit stash and found another one  – yay!

I stencilled on the blank part of the postcard with black  paint.  Once this has dried , I pasted some pieces of torn paper (for texture) from the kit.    I used 3 colours of paint  – light pink , a darker pink ( more like magenta) and dark blue.   I then used an old (credit card type) card to smear the paints (from lightest to darkest) randomly . Don’t overthink this !  That is the best part of this …. Just play.

Let  all the paints dry (don’t forget to  dry in between colours).  I then used the heart stickers and the border sheet strips from the paper collection.   I then  fussy cut the words “hope “ and “love” , and did a bit of layering on the postcard.

The Faux stamps

The next thing that I did is to cut some of the bits from the cut apart cards for my faux stamps.   I also used some of the old cut apart cards from old kits for variety.

I used scrap cardstock from another project to back the ephemera.

My  scalloped edge scissors and my scalloped edge rectangle punch for the stamp edge effect.

Please note that when using your scallop edge scissors , use it back to front.

What  do I mean about this ?  Use your scissors the other way rather than the correct scalloped way . This creates that stamp edge effect.  I hope this makes sense…

I love how these have turned out !

The faux stamps looks good in my journal page too..

I have enjoyed making this, and I am really please how they turned out.

I am hoping that you have found inspiration to make your postcards and faux stamps and I would love to see them in the group!.

Happy crafting !

Lots of Crafty Hugs ,

Sheryll
