Hi Everyone !  I hope you are all keeping well and wrapped !

It been absolutely freezing most days , but loving our walks on dry days and baking when we have to be indoors.

So, I have taken inspiration from the Pumpkin Pickin‘ kit journal prompts – Autumn Walks and documenting an autumn recipe.

If you remember the last time I was here , I shared how I recycled envelopes using the kit.

I have then created a page for my Autumn walk with poppy using the kit and also using the envelope as a pocket tip in.

I wanted to create a double page for my layout , but I wanted to create something different on the other page.

So , here is the twist , using magazine images to use on my layout.

Choosing the Images

Create a square template –  I have cut a 2.5 x 2.5 inch , but you can cut a template to whatever shape you like.  You can even use a different shape if you like.

I used a local shop magazine for this and chose images from the pages and used the template making sure that the image I wanted was at the centre.

Cut as much as you like that represents your theme or  what you wanted for your layout.

Then cut squares from the kit papers to lay in between images.

Creating the page

Arrange your squares on the page.

I had left over images which I saved as I may be able to add them on to another layout.  We shall see…

I alternated between an image and decorative paper.

Once you are happy with your arrangement, you can start adding the little details.

I used stickers from the kits and the word ‘Cozy” from the wash paper strips.

I then added a photograph of the quince upside down cake that I made.

Although I have made upside down cake before , I have never seen yet alone cooked quince before , so this was an adventure.

There was  a story behind the quince hence I also wanted to document this.

The completed pages

I found the piece of paper where  I have written the recipe of down and thought it would be good to add this.

So I folded it and placed it on the pocket that I have tipped in.

With this recipe is the story.

Lastly , I added pen work on the images to just make them stand out a bit.

I just love how it transformed the page by just adding a bit of pen work !

I love how this pages turned out.  I have surprised myself to be honest .

I thought I wasn’t going to be able to tie the pages together. but somehow it did.

The kit helped I think  as well as the theme and colours.

I hope this inspired you to create a page using images from magazines.

You can also use old greeting cards, gift wrappers , different papers  – the possibilities are endless.

Keep warm friends and see in the next blog!

Lots of crafty hugs, Sheryll
