Be Cheerful Junk Journal Page – by Sarah

Hi it’s Sarah here today with my first make using the One Fine Day kit.

I love the soft pastel and vintage tones of this months kit and it was perfect for my first entry in my newly made Art/Junk Journal.

For this page I took inspiration from the teacup ephemera and doily printables.  I started by adding some pink and yellow distress oxides to the background pages to make them more cohesive with the kit. I love to layer up lots of mixed media to a page to add more interest. Once dried I added some white gesso through a doily stencil to carry on the theme.

Using the papers in the kit and some scraps from my stash I created a collaged frame around my page. The Be Cheerful paper was a great feature title and I layered ephemera and fussycut elements on top. The lovely olive green paper borders framed the paler colours nicely.

I tucked in one of the printable doily pieces and added some lace along with a cute floral sticker and branch. I used a tea card from my stash and a twinings tea tab secured with a heart sticker on top of the collage layers.

Lisa recently added a sticker over a tab in the corner of one of her journal pages. It looked so cute I decided to do the same using matching lace from the adjacent page.

Finally I added some gold and and green splatters to the page and some pink stamping dotted around to match the title.

Thanks for joining me and I hope you have a happy crafty day!
