Creative Junk Journaling on Old Book Pages – with Kerry

.

It’s been a while since I updated my ‘Happiness’ junk journal and there were a good few pages that I still hadn’t done any journaling on. I decided to dust it off and get some creative journaling done on some old book pages using this months kit from the Lollipop Box Club.

For these first two pages I used gesso to cover the pages with a thin layer. This is not something I would usually do, but I was trying out the gesso, hahaha. I do actually like the effect it gave and it did make the pages more sturdy.

I decided to document my Diamond Award that I achieved just before Christmas from Slimming World. I have been at target for just over a year now. The Day Dreamer kit is perfect for this, as I wanted to show that goals are reachable and sustainable.

For the pages themselves, I added some of the tissue paper and one of the included papers as a background. I then used the gorgeous stencil and some distress ink, which I also added randomly to the pages as well. I finished off with some of the embellishments and stickers and a bit of motivational writing.

My second junk journal page centres around the gorgeous postcard that was in the kit. I had some colouring pages already in my junk journal, so I added a bit of bright colour to them using mildliners.

The old book page was perfect to add a bit of blackout poetry/journaling to. With the emphasis at the minute on social media being about being kind I wanted to incorporate that element in to it. The brightness of the kit was perfect in getting that message across. I love these happy pages.

Finally I used another of the postcards to fill a blank page and added a quote from a Menswear song… that takes me back! I think it really finishes off the page.

Don’t forget to show us how you have used the kit over in the Lollipop Box Club Chat group on Facebook.

Take Care,
Kerry xx
