It just dawned to me that I have been nursing in this country 24 years ! Wow! I feel so old like a dinosaur.
There has been a lot of activities on my social media lately as my Southampton nurse colleagues are busy preparing for our 25th Anniversary next year.
I managed to find some old photographs that was taken on our first week and on our first year. It has brought a lot of good memories and how we coped being away from home ( Well, I had a bit of an advantage as my mom was already living in Southampton).
The friendships that was formed , all the support for each other when things gets tough and of course the day off parties in the common room. It was great fun!
September’s kit was so adorable that I was so excited to received it ! ( FYI I get excited at every kit anyway…)
I felt right to use this month’s kit Dino Party to document this momentous day.
We came to the UK on the 17th of September 2001. It just seems like it was yesterday .
I was 25 , 1 year of nursing experience and I now have the opportunity to work overseas – away from my other family , my daughter and friends. It was an adventure !
So how did I create my journal layout?
I printed my photos using Canva to create a photo collage and then printed it using my Canon Selphy. I then cut my photos out and backed them with the green paper / card stock that was included in the kit.
Once I cut them out , I lay them out on my journal page just to see where I would like to place them.
This then gives me an idea of the embellishments that I am going to use or include on my layout.
I just love using the little journal card that you can cut from the zine. So, I have added this to my journal page.

I then laid out the photographs the way I would like them on th page and glued them in place.

Now it’s time to start embellishing! I used elements from the cut apart card, washi strip sheet , stickers and tulle.
I didn’t end up using the dino paperclips ,but perhaps I can use them on another layout. They are just adorable!

I also used the stamp set and have taken that lovely idea from Lisa from one of her Youtube videos. I just really love the little details on my journal page. It turned out so cute!
Now my page is ready for journaling !
So, here is my finished journal page..

I really loved my creative time and this journal page has truly brought me nostalgic feeling and beautiful memories. I am looking forward to our celebrations next year and I am sure it will be a day filled with lots of memories again.
What did you do with your kit ? What have you created with it ? I would love to know .
Please do share your creations in the Lollipopboxclub Face group and let’s inspire each other.
Till next tie my dear friends.. Lots of crafty hugs..
Sheryll
