How I Work with a Sketch – with video

.

Hello!! Did you see my live scrapbooking video on Friday?

It was the first one I’ve done. It was so much fun!

I worked with a sketch created by Laura Rumble from our team. I thought it would be fun to share how I’m inspired by sketches.

If you missed the live video, you can still watch it here and see how the page came together.

I used the new ‘Alice’s Tea Party’ kit here.

This is how the page turned out.

I replaced the diamond shape behind the photo with the ‘follow your dreams’ paper from the notepad. I also used 2 photos instead of the 1.

I love how a sketch is always my starting point, I never follow it completely.

I used the new stencil to the left. It’s a lovely vine stencil. It’s one of the addons which can be purchased here.

I do love a stencil.  I cut the clouds and flowers from the kit papers to use as embellishments. These work so well and I used quite a few bits from the embellishment postcard too.

I like to doodle around the outside : ).

You can see here the pieces that I cut from the embellishment postcard.

‘This way, thank you, go back’…the little boxes that I’ve slid under the photo, the blue bow and even the Mickey head was punched from the same postcard. And in case you were wondering where I got it, here you go.

If you look to the sketch, there are some lines alongside the title. I thought these would work well as journal lines.

I’m so happy with how this turned out. It’s such a happy page.

I hope you enjoyed the video and seeing how things came together even when things didn’t quite go to plan : )

I have opened this sketch up as a challenge if you’d like to join in. You can add your’s here if you wish. You do not need a kit to join in

Have fun and remember #dailycraftfix ….even if it’s just 10 mins at a time.
