There are lots of videos , craft ideas using junk mail.  I particularly like the ones that uses those junk mail envelopes.

What do you do with junk mail envelopes?

As I was tidying my craft table when I came across 2 envelopes that I have recycled ages ago and I wanted to do more.

This time I am going to use the October kit Pumpkin Pickin’.

I also printed the October printable kit to use for this project to complement the kit.

I think they will look adorable when I use them in my journal to tuck photos , journaling and other memorabilia on my journal pages.

So , what did I do to create them ?

Okay , first gather your junk mail envelopes.. Have a variety of sizes, windowed or non windowed ones.

Oh and don’t forget your scissors or any form of cutting material so that you can cut your envelopes to size.

Preparing your envelopes

Make sure to leave the window part of the envelopes as this can be used to showcase photos and images.

I have cut my envelopes to resemble a coin envelope and I left one just as it is.  Or you can just cut one without a flap and just punch a semicircle at the top.

It is good to have a variety of pockets.

Don’t forget to glue the original flaps .  Don’t worry if they are looking a bit “tatty” as they will be covered later on.

There will be a side of the window envelope that will be open. Don’t worry , it  will be sealed shut once we start on the next step.

By the way , you can either leave the security prints inside the envelopes as they are or glue a piece of printed paper, book page or a collage of stickers!

Ooh stickers… that sounds fun – I should definitely try that next time!

Lets cover the imperfections..

So , here is the fun part!  Collaging!

The papers in this kit and the printable  is just so beautiful !  They just complement each other.

I tore pieces of the papers as I really love the torn edge effect and just glued it where I feel like it.

Do not overthink this part – it just takes the fun out of the process.

I covered most of the print on the envelopes and I really love the “higgledy – piggledy” effect.

Because the papers are themed together , they just work.

The Finishing Touches

Now it time to decorate!

I have delved into my stash of old lollipop box club kits and chose a few dies cuts – mushrooms, leaves and hearts.

They turned out so cute!

How will I use them ?  I can attach them directly on to the page and make it into a pocket that is part of the page, or =you can attach it as a tip in.

I hope this little crafty idea has inspired you , let me know if you have made one and I would love to see it.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend … I hope you’ll have bit of a crafty cozy time and try this project.

Lots of crafty hugs, Sheryll
