With so many gorgeous patterns, colours and cute items in the Smile It’s Spring kit here, I knew straight away that I would be creating a mini book ready to document the start of Spring and hopefully a family Easter egg hunt in the garden. I added minimal materials to the kit to create this mini book, 1 sheet each of yellow and white cardstock, some Washi tape from a previous kit and an A4 sheet of acetate. I also used my Silhouette to cut out four Easter egg shapes and a basic set of water colours.

To create further layers and interest I added smaller pages of acetate, secured with spines of their own and taped into the mini book spine.  I really wanted to add something that captured Easter as a theme so cut four Easter egg shapes and backed with white cardstock. Each egg was painted with a wash of watercolour paint to co-ordinate with the other elements in the book.  Once the book has it’s basic structure in place it is super fun adding all the little touches that came in the kit!
