Hello everyone!

I have loved using the Forest Friends kit! I admit, I’ve been very much in Christmas mode so have been looking to use it in festive ways. You may have seen my miniature gingerbread house scape in the Facebook Chat Group. I’ve also made bits for my December journal as well as using scraps for cards and tags. I was pondering what to do for this blog post…………

I purposely haven’t bought any chocolate ornaments for my tree because, quite simply, I don’t have any willpower and know I won’t be able to resist them! We will have enough chocolate and sweet treats in the house over the festive period without me adding to it! However……I will be having some small people coming to visit. I thought they might like a little tree gift to take home with them so I’ve made some treat boxes that I’ll hide on the tree. Please bear in mind that because they are very little people I have not embellished as much as I would have liked for safety reasons. I will be making some boxes for the adults and trust me I’ll go overboard on embellishments and glitz on those!!

I used a Lora Bailora Box die. I bought mine last year but it is still available. It’s from the Lora Bailora Norte & Sur Collection – Milk Carton House Dies. The set includes little doors and windows to cutout and I’ll be using those on my adult cartons.

For those of you with cutting machines I am sure you can find something similar if you fancy making some.

I used a border punch to cut some decorative trim to go around the base of my boxes then to decorate, I fussy cut some of the elements from the fun collage sheet by Daisy from My Green Cow as well as using some of the ephemera pieces and trees and creatures cut from one of the papers. I stuck the little wooden hedgehog, acorn and leaf to some wooden pegs to keep the boxes shut. They look so cute, I do have a plan B….  I may remove them and use the stickers as a closure. Is that really naughty of me?!!

I’ve only added sequins to the boxes for the two slightly older girls. Each box will be filled with chocolate coins and sweet treats.

I hope it might have given you some ideas!

All that remains is for me to wish you a very Happy Christmas, stay safe and make lots of memories to document !!

I’ll be back just before the end of the year with a project using the new kit!

Love Philippa x
