Wonderland – Mixed Media Scrapbooking with Carrie

Hello lollipops

How are you all getting on?  Life continues to be very strange but I think I am finding a bit more of a rhythm to it now – I am certainly feeling more like myself.   I hope that you are continuing to be kind to yourselves – there is no right way to get through something like this.   This month its Lollipop Box clubs birthday! The kit is gorgeous – it’s called Alice’s Tea Party, just like the very first Lollipop Box Club kit there was – which I remember getting! I met Lisa at a crop that she was running, I think it was around the start of my scrappy adventures!

I say it every month, but this kit is just gorgeous! So many lovely little touches.  I started my page the same way that I always do – with gesso all over the cardstock. I then added some tape that I found in the hardware shop – its made up of lots of little squares and adds great texture to the page.  I used the glorious ‘Bramble Fox’ stencil and some modelling paste and then waited for that all to dry.  Then I added lots of lovely colour to the background using watercolour paints.

I backed some pictures that I have taken this spring with the papers from the kit and distressed the edges of the papers.  I also cut some of the flowers from the flower paper and then drew around the edges of those with black pen.  I cut the signposts from the zine, and some of the elements from the cut apart sheet and arranged them all down the left hand side of the layout.

I used my Copic pens to colour the subscriber alphas that came as a thank you from Lisa in the kit this month and added them under my pictures and then finished off the layout with some stickers from the kit and some of the pompom trim around my pictures.

To finish the page I added some scribbles and other marks.  Apart from the mixed media supplies, which are my own, everything I used to make this layout came from the kit.  They really are perfect for scrapbooking!

Take care everyone – speak soon!
