2023 – a Year of Balance by Terri

Do any of you choose a word of the year?

Last year I signed up for Ali Edwards One Little Word classes, however life took over and I never got passed the January prompts. When I saw the ‘Let’s do this’ Lollipop Box kit it spurred me on to try again this year and I’ve used it to set up a 6×8 album along with printables from the Ali Edwards class.

This year I have chosen the word BALANCE as I very much feel that since the pandemic my life feels a complex mix of busy, unhelpful unproductive time and over the last few months I’ve stopped exercising too.

I used the patterned papers to create a title page for the album by cutting a large 2023 from the navy paper. This was then glued on to the plain blue paper. As it wasn’t quite wide enough to fill the page protector I am using I added 2 strips of patterned paper to widen the page.

I added the word balance with some small alphabets from my stash to a strip of peach patterned paper to create a central banner.

Many of the printables from the One Little Word class as 3×4 inch in size so I wanted to create some filler cards that I can use to add colour and intersperse these in my January journalling. To do this I cut patterned paper in to 3×4 inch pieces adding small square cut apart sheet, banners and diecuts from the Lollipop Box kit.

Aswell as the smaller journalling cards there are also some large 6×8 printables that I wanted to give a little decoration to. I have added a strip of patterened paper, sticker and journal card from the kit. Small simple design but adds some colour to a plain page.

I’m looking forward to completing this project over 2023 and using the different Lollipop Box Kits to supplement my journalling.

Thank you for joining me on the blog today, don’t forget to head over to the Lollipop Box Chat Facebook group for more inspiration, chat and challenges.

Happy Crafting!
