Anyway, when I finally managed to sort my passport and received my new one as well as the old, I had a lightbulb moment.

Well, this is not my idea originally , but I have seen it on social media ages ago.

I wondered what could do with my old passport – I am getting quite a collection now.

There are some people who made their old passports into a journal , however, I am too scared to deface mine ( if decorating it means defacing it ).

So, my idea was to create a faux passport to use as a travel journal.

How did this idea come about I hear you ask?

Well, a few months ago, I was tidying up our garage and found old ephemera from the countries I have been to.

I didn’t have the heart to throw them away.  Some of the ephemera were from before I started journaling.

So, the plan is to document all the places / countries I have been on this faux passport, and use the ephemera to decorate my pages.

Creating the passport

I used my old passport as a guide for size and used the August Kit – Pack Your Bags in creating this little project.

To create the front page of my passport, I used the stickers in the kit and made a collage.

I also used my alphabet stamps to stamp out the word “passport”.

The first two pages of a passport has your details, but here I created a little page using bits from the kit and zine.

A little bit of disclosure, I wanted to let you know that, I have used some old items in my stash to add into this project.

I used old stickers , old papers , old die cuts, etc.

Creating the Pages

First , I listed all the places / countries that I have been to that I know I have photos of.

I then chose a few photos from that holiday.

Using the phone and photo printer, I have printed tiny photos to put on this journal.

I allocated 1 -2 pages for each country , depending on how big and memorable the holiday was.

So here are a few of the pages that I have created…

I wrote little snippets of memory on each of the country I have been to and wrote them in a higgledy piggledy manner .

I just love how this little “passport” turned out, and I certainly love the fact the It is near full!

Oh , I almost forgot !  I decorated the back too and collaged some stickers.

I then inked all the pages light blue.

What I didn’t realise is that as I was creating this mini journal , I was really enjoying myself and ideas on how to decorate each page came so easy.

I was so inspired after this creative time and feel that I could create more!  This is just definitely what I needed.

I hope this little project has inspired you to create your own or perhaps spark another idea.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this blog..

‘Till nest time !

Lots of crafty hugs, Sheryll
