Bright Junk Journal with Kerry

Yay hello everyone, here’s my first post for The Lollipop Box Club since I made it on to the creative team.

Today I am sharing a junk journal I have made using the gorgeous September Kit here. As part of my own Facebook group Kerrymay Makes A Mess, I set a challenge every August to create a junk journal. This year it was done as a game of bingo with prompts. I decided to use the kit to complete the journal and the prompts. The papers / card were perfect for this. I love every piece, especially the one I have used for the cover of Lisa’s own artwork.

I didn’t sew any of the journal. Instead I made folds in the card and then tied the string that was included in the kit around the centre of the pages, this way I can add or remove pages whenever I like. I then added some elastic to the outer cover and tied that. I then slid the journal through it travelers notebook style, finally adding the pretty lace to tie it all together.

The video below shows a full flip through of the process and how I put it all together for my ‘Happy Home Junk Journal’.

I have almost used everything that came in the kit to make this journal. I love how bright and cheery it all is, but with Autumnal feels. I have used a variety of photos that I printed from my Instagram within the journal itself of my happy home. I will probably add a bit more journaling to it too at some point, but for now I’m happy just looking at it.

As part of the junk journal challenge I organised there were several prompts. One was to create a vintage tag. The kit came with an already stamped tag, so I added a bit of gold leaf pen to it and to a wooden embellishment I had lying around.

All the elements of the kit tie together perfectly. I just love the washi that Jo made from Little Rainbow Moon.

You can see the other pages I have created in the video at the top the post, but I just had to include a photo of my Happy Places/Happy Times page. I even managed to make a mini tn page too using the tissue paper that the kit came in and have added a photo of it to my layout.

I hope that this has inspired you to try your hand at creating a Happy Home journal or a junk journal using the kit. Don’t forget to share what you create in the Lollipop Box Club Chat Facebook group.

Take Care,
Kerry xx
