Dreamy Mixed Media Scrapbooking with Carrie

The ‘Happily Ever After’ kit here is so dreamy and cute, it has a Disney feel to it but can be used for non-Disney scrapping too and works perfectly with this picture of a rose.  I did sneak a little Disney in with my journaling though.

I started off by using Distress Oxide Sprays to make the background – the colours are so very vivid.  Splatters are one of the easiest ways to add mixed media to a layout. I also added some of the Vicki Boutin iridescent glaze to the splatters too.  This helped give it a magical feel and you can never have too much sparkle.

The papers this month are scrummy, they are so thick and such good quality – I used them to back the picture, tearing the edges to add texture.  I also used some of the vellum that came in the kit and created a cluster at the top and bottom of the picture using the die cuts.   I popped some purple sparkly washi onto the papers as well (see above about never having too much sparkle!)

I always pick up add-ons to go with my kit. Lisa stocks lots and this month there were some from Simple Stories.  The tiny words at the bottom of the layout are from the sticker set. I mixed these in with more die cuts to create a second cluster over some more splatters.

To finish off I sprinkled sequins around the page and added some doodles, silver splatters and the words to ‘Favourite Things’ as my journaling.

I hope you all enjoy this months kit as much as I did.
Big hugs
