Explore with Going Places by Terri

Today I’ve got my second layout using the Going Places Kit from Lollipop Box Club. My last layout focussed predominantly on the deep blues and greens in the kit but I wanted to showcase some of the more subtle tones also in this months collection.

I started off with a piece of 12×12 white cardstock and then drew an 8.5 inch square in the centre. To create the paint splatters I used watercolours from Campbella and a small paintbrush.

Then I fussy cut the light pink scalloped sections from one of the patterned papers and adhered them top and bottom inside the drawn square. I wanted the majority of the design to be confined within the square to give the page lots of bright white space.

I layered tags, diecuts and stickers from the kit along the bottom scalloped paper. Using the watercolours I painted a border on the air mail tag adding blue and green tread before placing it on the page. I can’t add a tag without something in the hole, it just doesn’t look right to me.

This layout documents our trip on the cable car across the harbour in Berlin. Although the kit didn’t have any cable care designs I used a multitude of different transport items to give the idea of it being a transport related story. The explore die cut was perfect as a title piece, raised up on foam to make it stand out.

With the large amount of embellishment at the bottom of the frame I felt it needed balance by adding a small cluster in the opposite top corner. So I added the globe and a few cloud die cuts. The layout was finished off with some of the blue and green pearls.

Happy creating!
