My Boys Journal Page – by Sarah

Hi it’s Sarah here today with a creative journal page using the Marrakesh kit. I love the contrasting blues and oranges in the papers and decided to use this as inspiration for a very vibrant colourful page.

I wanted to include some texture in the background but without the bulk so opted for some thick gesso rather than texture paste. It gives a subtle lift and allows the paints to run around it emphasising parts of the stencilling.

The papers had some lovely decorative border strips so I fussy cut them out to add to opposite edges of the pages. I added the thin gold washi on top for a bit of shimmer.

To create a place for a hidden letter I made a pocket by layering a cut apart and journal card. I added some ephemera on top for more interest.

.

.

I made my mini letter using a scrap of gelliprinted paper. I use them a lot as they add a pop of colour and have a nice textured feel to them. I popped a sticker on the front and wrapped it with some string securing it with mini staples.

Using some mini wooden alphas stamps I added my title on some more of the gelliprinted paper to match, then added splashes of white and gold paint to finish the page.

Thanks for stopping by today!
