Hi Lollipops

I can’t believe that this is my last blog post for 2022! How quickly this year seems to have gone by! How has 2022 been for you? I think it’s been quite a tricky year for lots of us.

I know that I haven’t managed to create as much as I would have liked to do and spending more time making things is definitely on my list of habits for 2023.

I have decided that next year I am going to go for habits rather than goals – as its a lot easier to stick to a new habit, to work at it and pick it back up again if life gets in the way. With a goal, I always feel that if I loose my way for a few days, that becomes a few weeks and then it feels like I have failed at it – so I might as well give up!

With that in mind I pulled together a selection of pictures of my favourite things – my dogs, being outside in nature, my home, my desk, to do some reflective journalling about and to help me set my new habits for next year.  The new December ‘Lets do this’ kit is just perfect to help you take stock of 2022 and reset ready for 2023.

I love the colours in this kit – the teals, with pops of navy, pink and yellow are just my kinds of colours so this page came together really easily.  I backed my pictures with different papers from the kit and arranged them in a kind of gallery wall style down the left hand side of the page.

I used the fabulous printed envelope as a focal point and to back the selfie – this is such a gorgeous embellishment that I split it in half so that I could use the back on another layout!  I also decided to carry the Kraft and black in embellishments over and pulled some stamps from my stash and stamped onto the cover of the little book that came in the kit.  This is one of the things that I love about Lisa’s kits – you can use all the bits, so even if something doesn’t work for you in the way that its supposed to be used, you can think outside of the box and use things in different ways!

I used some of the stickers and die cuts to create a title for the page – along with bits of the cut apart post card.  And then to finish off I threaded the buttons with some pink thread from my stash and stuck these down too.  I loved this kit – all the elements work together so well and there are a few new bits in there that are really unusual.

Whatever you are doing over the festive period I hope that you are happy, healthy and safe and that you get to spend sometime with people you love doing things that you enjoy.

See you all in January!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
