Hello Lollipop friends!

So….. my Mum came to stay recently and she brought me, amongst other things, a small empty cardboard box, yes, I know, random!! She said she thought it was too good to throw away and that I could probably ‘do something with it’……. I’m all for recycling so fast forward a couple of weeks and Lisa shared herĀ  idea of offering a free Spring Positivity Workshop starting on April 1st (Full details here).

I thought it was a brilliant idea and I liked the idea of documenting the little things that make me feel good, not by creating overly complicated journal pages or scrapbook layouts, just a random collection of photos, quotes, pretty things etc. in a simplified way and memorydex cards seemed ideal! So, back to Mum’s box which I thought would make a lovely little holder for them. I’d been trawling Pinterest for ideas and set about turning the box into something pretty, this is the result.

I discovered it wasn’t the easiest thing to photograph but hopefully you’ll get the idea! I’m not going to go through how I made it as it would be a long blog post and frankly it took me ages messing about and I doubt you’d want to replicate it!! You can see I’ve used papers from the kit along with the ribbon and the ‘spring’ bunting from the sticker sheet.

I thought you might like to see some of the cards I’ve made so far and as I add to my collection I’ll post in the Facebook chat group. Lisa’s workshop is running throughout April but as the first day of Spring is Sunday 20th March and it ends on Tuesday 21st June there’s no pressure to fill it in April!

I do have some dies for cutting the basic memorydex card shape and I have also got a set of Heidi Swapp cards that have been languishing in my craft room for quite a while so it’s an opportunity to use up some stash!

I’d pulled out some cardstock in colours to compliment the ‘Some bunny loves me’ kit and set about punching out border strips some in plain colours and some from one of the papers, these were then layered up on the base card. How cute are those little bunnies? I added one of the tabs, ephemera pieces and a phrase sticker from the kit and I popped in some foliage die cut pieces of my own.

For the second memorydex card I cut out a circle and used a piece of the green net from the kit to make a shaker centre. I machine stitched around the circle with gold thread and used the same thread to machine around the edge of the card as well. I cut the little flowers from a yellow kit paper bag and plain card stock. I added the heart stickers, one of my own hand painted floral ephemera pieces and three of phrase stickers mounted on coloured card.

For the final card I made an envelope in some pretty daisy paper using my envelope punch boardĀ  which I lined with the mottled green card from the kit. At the moment it’s holding tags and ephemera pieces from the kit but I know I’ll be using them on other cards so I might end up adding some hidden journalling in the envelope or photos, who knows?!

I hope I’ve inspired you, if only to dig out border punches you haven’t used for a while or an envelope punch board!

I’ll be back next month with another project using the ‘Some bunny loves me’ kit until then……

Happy crafting!
