Teddy Bear’s Picnic – by Monique

Hello Lollipop Friends!

The ‘Picnic in the Park’ kit is just bursting with sunshine! It immediately made me think of a sunny Lockdown garden picnic I had with my twins a couple years ago. Their Nursery invited us to a virtual Teddy Bear’s Picnic so all the teddies joined us outside along with their mini tea set. We poured cups of ‘tea’ and enjoyed yummy snacks together in the glorious sunshine!

I started off by selecting my photos. There were four I wanted to include so I printed them off at 3×2 inches each so that I’d still have room to include lots of extra lovely details. My favourite part about each kit is exploring all the lovely bits and pieces! I immediately pulled out the patterned paper filled with little bordered shapes. After a happy moment of fussy cutting, I placed them around my page and then layered my photos on top. I created a visual diagonal with my pics, from the top left, down to the bottom right of my page.

This month Lollipop Box Club is collaborating with the lovely Daisy from My Green Cow. Daisy has created the most gorgeous collage sheet which compliments the kit perfectly! I cut out all the individual elements and began to embellish. They added so much sunshine, joy and a hint of whimsy to the page! A further collaborator is Skull and Cross Buns with a fabulous chevron stamp. I stamped it three times one the sweet strawberry patterned paper and dotted them around my page.

At this point, I was happy with how my layout was looking so began to think about starting to stick things down! I used a stencil brush to add a soft yellow glow and layered patterned paper and the pretty printed vellum behind each photo. I raised the photos up with craft foam for extra dimension and interest. The kit also includes bright green staples which added a lovely touch of texture to each photo. I love the Mrs Brimbles sticker sheet! The little text pieces are always perfect for adding in little phrases and I especially loved the sweet picnic basket and buzzy bee.

In this instance, my page really felt like it needed a border. I loved the hand drawn feel of Daisy’s collage sheet so I echoed this with a double doodled border to finish it off.

Thank you so much for joining me today! I really hope you’ve seen something that inspires a new idea and that you are having fun creating with the sunny Picnic in the Park kit. If you’ve not got one yet, there’s still time! You can grab yours here.

Have a happy, sunny day!

Much love,

Monique
