HAPPY JUNE!
☀️ Flip-Flop Days: Making Magic With June Kit Scraps
There’s something SO FUN about the leftovers — those tiny patterned pieces, half-used stickers, and washi tape strips that didn’t make it onto other projects. As a junk-journaller/scrapbooker/crafter, we don’t throw them away! I decided to keep my pieces and turn them into little journalling spots for my future pages or projects.
Each card in this set started as a scrap of lined paper from an old notepad and pieces of leftover card or ephemera from the June kit — a little paper here, a sticker there. Think seaside sunshine, flip-flop days, and that carefree “let’s make something” energy.

🌊 Scrap Play Ideas
- Mini Journaling Cards — Use leftover patterned paper to create small cards for journaling or memory keeping. Add stickers, washi, and doodled borders for personality.
- Layered Embellishments — Stack scraps, ribbon bits, and tags to make dimensional accents for future layouts.
- Summer-Themed Tags — Combine bright colours and playful icons (like beach balls and seashells) for tags that scream summer fun.
- Creative Challenges — Pick five random scraps and make one finished card — no peeking allowed! It’s a great way to spark creativity.
Scraps remind us that creativity doesn’t need perfection — it thrives on being random and free. They push you to experiment, mix patterns, and find beauty in the unexpected. Plus, there’s something deeply satisfying about using every last bit of your kit.

I just LOVE the layers and the simplicity of all of these cards – simply layered on some torn pieces of note paper – strips from the washi paper, clips, stickers, washi tape, all bordered off with some felt-tip and gel pen for depth.
Sometimes it doesn’t have to be the big double spread for your journal – it only has to be a small project or piece that you make in bulk to use up that tray of scraps.

The final 6 finished pieces – let me know which is your favourite and what you made with your June kit!
