Hello everyone!

How is June treating you? We have had nothing but rain today, and we decided to go on a long hike. We were soaked through to the skin!

This week I am using up leftover pieces of my May kit to document some lovely flowers that were sent to us for booking our wedding venue!

I love surprise deliveries!

The background is made up of a flyer that came with the flowers, and I used the to-do list to layer up the background. I also decided to use the flag bunting paper and make my own washi tape! I did this by laying some thick tape on the paper, rubbing it quite firmly and then tearing it off quite quickly, like you’re giving it a wax! It gives a great effect, and you can create your own washi using this technique. I also use it quite a lot when I want to harvest bits from magazines, like patterns or wording, without cutting them. It just adds another dimension and point of interest to your pages.

I loved the gold foiled die cuts, which went brilliantly with this page, I paired them with some gold hearts i needed to use up in my sticker stash.

The white journaling boxes are great for adding spots of your story, or for layering behind photos. As you can see here, I have done a little bit of both.

The cloud stickers again were brilliant for layering, as are paper napkins for that texture but not too overpowering, as the white of the napkin goes almost clear with PVA or modge podge adhesive.

I used a lot of junk here too, including the napkin, but here is just a few pieces that I used that came from the package the flowers were wrapped in:

  • The notecard
  • The envelope
  • The ribbon

I did save the cellophane wrap to use on the page too but I felt it was too overbearing and decided to use a napkin for colour contrast.

Let me know how you used your May kit!
