Adventures in the Sun by Terri

Today I’m sharing my first layout with the August ‘Finding Paradise’ box. Those beautiful bright summer colours are stunning.

Using the stamp set from the kit I stampted the flowers and leaves using Distress Oxide but spritzed the inked stamp with water prior to stamping to create a soft water colour effect. Once dry I fussy cut them all out to create my own embellishments.

To create the layout I added some stencilled yellow words to my background cardstock with Distress Oxide. This gave me a base to build on for my page. I cut the sunburst patterned paper in half, tore a curved edge and cut out the white sections. I popped each ray up on foam pads to give it dinemsion on the page.

I added my photo which was matted on the sun paper and two torn strips of paper. Then created clusters of embellishment usinf the stamped embellishments, fussy cut watermelons, stickers, tassel and palm tree paper clip.

Once I’d got my clusters created it came together quickly with finishing touches. Added in word stickers and beautiful bright pink gems.

The words on the striped patterned paper made a great title when cut apart. I’ve had this photo from our trip to Costa Rica printed for ages and this was the perfect kit to use to document the fun memories of cocktails in the hot springs.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today, please share your creations over on the Facebook group as we love to see them.

Happy Crafting!
