Creating with Circles by Emma Kate

.

Hey Lollipop friends, I’ve gone circle mad with this 12×12 layout! I wanted to make a feature of the circle patterned paper from the “La Patisserie” kit here & from there the circles just grew in numbers.

.

.

I began with my mixed media background, choosing a blue base to pick out the colour of my little girl’s jumper in the photo, then on a layer of white gesso I used distress oxide mists & the packaging technique to create my background. To soften the edges of my mixed media I created splatters using the same colour mists.

Next, I fussy cut the circles from the patterned paper & punched some circles from the other patterned papers within the kit. I arranged the circles around my photo & once I was happy with the placement I adhered them in place with wet glue & foam tape for dimension.

.

.

For some added texture I hand stitched circles using 3 strands of thread in complementary colours. I then layered my photo with vellum & “La Patisserie” ephemera & adhered it in place.

To finish I added my title, journalling & a sprinkling of sequins. I absolutely love how versatile the Lollipop Kits are, from 12×12 layouts to junk journal pages & everything in between, there is something for every creative!

Much Love,
