Journaling Pockets with Chloe

Hello all!

Chloé here on the blog again today, and this time I’ve been creating using the beautiful October kit, Once Upon a Time. This kit is full of autumnal colours, but I wanted to show that it can be used for all sorts of themes! Lisa has talked a lot about story-telling this month, and this theme is prevalent in the kit. I was inspired by this to create some journaling pockets, using papers and tags from the kit. Sometimes we don’t want our journaling out in the open if it’s super personal (or we’re trying to save space on the page!) so this is a good little hack.

Sorry for the rubbish photos, I’m really fighting with poor lighting in my house at the moment! These little tag pockets were so easy to create; I cut some paper from the kit into a 3×8 strip, and used a small circle punch to punch a half-circle out of one end. I then folded the paper in half, so that it became a 3×4 pocket. I simply used some skinny double sided tape to seal the two long sides, and then it could house a tag from the kit! I decorated the pockets with embellishments from the October box; primarily stickers and die cuts. I then finished them off with a few bits of washi and stamps from my stash, and I also used a doily from last month’s kit.
Like I said, these are fab for hidden journaling or space-saving, and I can’t wait to incorporate them into a layout.
I hope you enjoyed this little DIY!
