Spitfire Adventure Mini-Make by Lorraine

Hello there, I am super excited to be sharing my first creation using the stunning  June Kit ‘Bucket List’, for a cute mini-make featuring lots of small photos. This is the perfect way to get so many photos of special memories into one place, and the ideal size for a coffee table book or taking out and about to show to friends and family. The right hand ‘flip-flap’ side of the album was inspired by a class taught by Vik at a recent GoGo Getaway, I loved the way this opened left to right and alternative pages. I have put together a flip through on my YouTube channel if you would like to take a peek at the interactive pages.

My mini-album is a finished size of 5 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ and was created by using three pieces of medium weight cardboard (one for the front and back, and with the spine in the centre) which I covered in the cloudy blue paper from June’s kit. The watercolour postcard was ideal to fussy cut the circle out and feature on the cover of my album, mounting this on the yellow polka dot paper really made for a fun cover. Inside the front cover I have used the manilla envelope cut down to size, creating an expansion fold on either side and cutting a semi circle on the front. This was the perfect place to house the two decorated green luggage labels. Making the front of the manilla envelope  pretty was made super easy with the cute stickers in the kit.

The right hand side of the book is the ‘flip-flap’ pages, there are many different ways to create these but the simplest way is to start with one base section divided into three sections, scored and folded. Further ‘flips and flaps’ can then be built into each side. There are various tutorials online so you can get as creative as you like within a few clicks. I have decorated the ‘flip-flap’ pages with small photos, some larger than others where I wanted the focus to be. I mounted the photos on the various patterned papers in the kit as well as the remnant of the manilla envelope and the map paper. A mini fold out accordion section was created to add to one of the pages to house more photos and create fun hidden elements.

Embellishing the pages was great fun with the stickers, cut part sheet, blue post-it notes and journal strips.  The ‘happiness card’ envelope was the perfect size to fit the ballon die cut in, what a great place for hidden journalling! This mini book is a special gift for someone so I have left the journalling for them to complete, there is also still some room in the front page pocket if they wish to add any tickets or receipts from the day. I hope that they find it a lovely way to look back and remember a very special day, I certainly enjoyed making it with all the gorgeous items from the Bucket List kit.

Thank you for joining me today, don’t forget to share what you create with the June kit as I would love to see.
