Starry Night Cards:

I decided to make a couple of starry backgrounds using the stamp and the stencil from the May kit. For the first background I started by spraying navy blue, mint blue, purple, and bronze mists all over a piece of white cardstock:

Once the mists were dry I stamped the stamp all over it using gold ink, and then used a sponge dauber to apply both white and gold paint through the stencil. I made sure to rotate the stamp and the stencil around as I was using them, so the stars were not all pointing the same way:

I decided to experiment with another way of doing the background, so I stamped gold stars onto a blue piece of card, then used embossing paste mixed with gold paint to scrape through the stencil, so the new background had a bit more texture. Here’s a quick video of making that background: https://youtu.be/9zb60RNbmsQ

And here’s the backgrounds once they were dry – I like how the gold stamped stars shimmer on the background, which is hard to capture in a photo:

It was easy to cut these down to fit onto some A6 card blanks, and then I topped each one with a phrase from the kit (with inked edges and stuck on with foam dots so they stand out a bit), and some sequins, pearly dots, and buttons:

These were so much fun to make and I can’t wait to send them to someone!
