It’s lovely to be back Guest designing for Lollipop Box Club with the stunning 100th kit, ‘Finding Paradise’! It is filled with bright, sunny vibes and I’m using it to hang onto Summer for a little bit longer!
Using a sheet of A4 watercolour cardstock, I started my layout with a bit of mixed media – some shimmery watercolours and beaming stencilled sunrays. I added one long stitched ray between each stencilled sunray, and added a few sequins to each long stitch for a bit of shimmer.
The kit, includes the most gorgeous sheet of cerise handmade paper. It is so vibrant and perfect for making a flamingo! I drew one on a sheet of paper and used it as a template to cut out of the pink paper, alternatively you could print off a pic from online and use that as your cutting template. Stitching around the edge finished it off perfectly, along with a big googly eye. This flamingo was the perfect partner for my photos of my kids and friends playing with giant flamingo water inflatables. I used a piece of glitter tule from the kit to staple on a ruched wing and the tealy blue patterned paper for a beak and to back my photos.
Then for a bit of fussy cutting! I cut the cute little sun, leaves and text pieces from the various different patterned papers, added in the sweet, sunny tassel, a few sticker pieces, jewel stickers and an ephemera flower to make my layout complete!
