We really are racing through February, it’s almost March? How did that happen?

I wanted to use this kit to catch up in my weekly journal, as a lot of the ‘everyday stuff’ gets missed from my memory and I only usually remember the ‘big events’ like birthdays, days out (which I don’t do much of anymore) etc.  I started to revamp my home at the start of the year; adding bits of character, and spending a lot more time with my pooch, who is rapidly approaching 8 months (yeah he’s fully in the teenage phase – uh oh!).

On this page here I used the green paper bag for a pocket (we all love a pocket, don’t we?) to hold two journalling cards to hide some journalling and extra photos. I love the strips that Lisa creates, so I always tear or cut them up to add to the pages – we all love to add layers! I also added them to the back of some postcards to fill a gap when I covered up the back of the postcard with some scrap paper from my box. Additionally the embellishment postcard this month was a good one to just add a bit of something to the gaps and break up the page with some interest.

The pages are about finding joy in the every day, even if it is something small. I went to a clothes swap over the weekend and got rid of around twenty items that have been sat in a black bin bag in my spare room for around a year, and picked up some new dresses and outfits. I naturally gravitated towards the jumpers and cosy clothes for winter, but forced myself to pick out some holiday clothes to save me some money for my first holiday abroad since I was 15 years old!

One card is about my pup’s new toys that arrived in his monthly treat box and how he loves to play! I also have started adding these cute date stickers I got from Temu to my pages so they have the date clearly visible.

My second spread is documenting the changes I am making to my home, I only have a small kitchen so I have always wanted a smaller, bar style table so I switched out my old dining table and bulky chairs to something more sleek and modern.

When I saw the key and twine in the goody bag I had to make a little charm to go on a tag I had lying in my scraps box. I watched Lisa’s video on charm making and I got the itch. I can’t wait to start collecting treasure to make my journal charms with!

I also cut up the kit ‘zine and used the two sketch journalling cards Lisa made to embellish and layer up on the page.

These photos are showing the vinyl I added to my splashback – I hated the metallic grey, and then my ADHD took over and I decided to vinyl over the appalling new build paintwork on my kitchen windowsill. I think it looks nice and blends in with the blue colour of my lovely kitchen!

Have a happy and healthy March everyone – it is my birthday month but I have a feeling this year is going to be a very lonely and quiet one indeed.

Lots of love,

Lauren xx
